Chegg Announces New Affiliate Program
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Here's a quandary: College students are notoriously broke, but they need expensive textbooks for their classes. So, what to do? The answer is suddenly clear. Chegg, the online textbook rental company, delivers books for less money and hassle than buying textbooks at the store. And now Chegg has announced an affiliate program that pays site owners 10-12% commission when a user clicks through to Chegg.com and rents a book. "Joining the Chegg affiliate program is the simplest way to turn site traffic into cash -- and of course add value to your site," said Osman Rashid, Chegg's CEO and Co-Founder. "We give the affiliate sites content that is valuable -- and adds another revenue stream to boot and the high commission rate ensures that partners do not lose any commissions when their users turn to renting from buying." Jeff Sherwood, CEO of textbook comparison search engine BIGWORDS.com, a Chegg affiliate partner, explained, "We are constantly searching for ways to maximize textbook savings, and Chegg provides a clear benefit.

Herky school building has forgotten history
It's almost lost among a labyrinth of additions that now make up the district's high school for 500 students. The only telltale sign of the fire is the slight variation in hue of the burgundy-colored bricks, where damaged bricks were removed and new ones planted. The original structure and gymnasium were built in 1912, said current Dunklin Superintendent Stan Stratton. Earlier this fall, Dunklin School Board members recruited residents to draft a long-term plan for the district's three buildings. The recommendation given to board members last week included demolition of the original gym and the structure that rose from the ashes. "There is always a sentimental attachment, and some people will be upset, but we need to provide facilities that are the best for the education of our students," Stratton said.
Untangle the web
He said the key to online success was in maximising your search engine marketing (SEM). "Search engine marketing is about increasing the visibility of your company in a search engine," he said. "There are two ways you can do this. The first is by paying, by being one of those advertisements you see on the right hand side of the page." Your ranking on this sponsored list is determined partly by the amount you "bid" and pay per customer "click", and partly by the prominence of relevant keywords on your website. The second way is through increasing the ranking of your site to the first page of a search, or at least the first three pages. "Search engines have automated 'spiders' that roam the internet, checking as many sites as they can for the content of those sites," said Mr O'Toole.
Building a real rapport with Pacific Islanders
Howard and his foreign minister, Alexander Downer, treated their Pacific Island counterparts with contempt, choosing to air complaints about them in press conferences and open letters to the public, rather doing as they would with, say, the president of the United States or the prime minister of Japan - and pick up the phone. Imagine Australia's foreign minister publicly saying this of dealing with Indonesian politicians: "You don't want to do so from a position of weakness, you don't want to look weak and you don't want to look compliant." Yet that's exactly what Downer said - about Pacific Island leaders - in a national debate before the election, which was broadcast on ABC's Radio Australia throughout the region. Moreover, imagine some other nation saying it of us.
